A large white semi tractor trailer pulled onto Derbyshire at 8:55 pm Monday, March 17, 2014, to deliver the much anticipated 10′ – 6 seat swing that will replace the one that was destroyed in a storm a few years back. City employees Rob Bettcher and Kyle McClintock were on hand to unload and securely store the precious cargo.
Tuesday morning, Bettcher and McClintock were busy in the park preparing the ground for the new equipment. Bettcher mentioned that the extra dirt from the swing area will be put to good use as there are many unlevel areas in the field and ball diamond. He will use the excess dirt and do his best to make the field area safer and more accessible.
Wednesday, March 19, KAR Construction employees will assemble the swing. The cold weather will soon be behind us so join us in the park! You should be able to “take flight” as early as the weekend!
